The story of Frankie's Old World Biscotti begins in the hills of Calabria in 1592, with a sacred family recipe. Biscotti were part of a local wedding custom, and made with only the freshest black anisette, sun roasted almonds, stoneground flour, and other homegrown flavors. Priests blessed the dough before baking in a brick oven, a process that took three days. The result was biscotti softer in texture, and unlike those made commercially today. I am so happy to carry on my family's tradition and present my biscotti to you - they are made with love, heart, and the soul of Old Calabria.

SONS OF ITALY HOLLYWOOD LODGE FIFTH ANNIVERSARY

A big Thank You! goes out to our friends in San Diego. The October 12th Festa was our most successful appearance to date. We enjoyed a beautiful day with a huge and friendly crowd. We received a surprise visit from Bernadette Tarantino from the Festa Sicilianna, San Diego. This year's event is scheduled for May 17, 2009 in Little Italy. Our dear friend, president of Unico West Los Angeles, David Donnini also stopped in for a special visit. Another huge thank you goes out to our volunteers, John and Adri, and of course our amici locali, Marah, Claudia, Catalina and Isabela. As for Biscotti flavors, Orange Cranberry was a big hit, together with the all-time favorites Black Anise Almond and Vanilla Almond. The enhanced Tropical Paradise and the all-new Pear Walnut were also crowd favorites. Be sure to see Frankie's Christmas Collection for beautiful gifts featuring these and other inspired flavors.
